Breeding rottweilers isn't something we enter into lightly. We strive to produce
rottweilers that are sound in body and mind as well as having the drive to
work. Any dog or bitch we breed are first tested for health clearances as in
having their hips, elbows, eyes and hearts clear and certified with the Orothpedic
Foundation for Animals (OFA) They will also have at least one conformation
championship title as in CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) AKC (American Kennel
Club) CFC (Canadian Federation Cynologue) or rated SG or better in a Sieger show.
We also strive to have at least one working title. All this is a
way of testing their breed 'worthiness' by having judges, from an officially
recognized kennel club, grant them the championship points needed to complete
their title as well as a working title to show that they not only have the
conformation qualities needed but also the mind to work - to some degree, by obtaining
obedience or other working titles. This also applies to all the dogs
in their pedigrees for at least 3 generations back. Generations of champions
and working titled ancestry as well as verified health clearances. All our puppies have been subject to ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) as well as raised in our home and exposed to many different stimuli. We do our best to place promising show puppies in homes that will show and title them and offer life time support and help to those who take one of them into their homes and hearts to ensure ongoing help and advice as needed. Breeding is not a business for us, but rather, a hobby and something we take great joy and pride in trying to continually improve on the great foundation we started with in Kaese. We have produced multiple AKC, CKC and CFC champions as well as V-1 rated dogs from German Style Sieger Shows in addition to Best In Show dogs and multiple working titled dogs with High in Trials. We've also had the honor of having top 10 AKC show and working titled dogs as well as top 10 CKC titled dogs/bitches. |

Please note that we no longer dock tails on our puppies. As of 2010, this procedure has been prohibited by law for
Veterinarians in Atlantic Canada as well as for breeders to do it themselves.
The CKC changed our breed standard to include a tailed rottweiler for competing
in the conformation ring (as of January 2006) and should therefore not be
penalized by a judge. Most of the breed standards from all the rest of the
worlds kennel clubs changed their standards and laws regarding this many years
ago including, the country of origin for the rottweiler, Germany. Their
law and breed standard was changed over 12 years ago now. In December, 2010, I had my first litter with tails left intact and I loved it! You see so much more expression and agility as well as relief for me in not causing undue stress and pain to both the puppies and the mother. I have talked to many breeders and owners of tailed rottweilers since and the story is the same -- they would never go back to tail docking having owned a tailed rottweiler. |
